The Gig for Gaza was a charity fundraiser that took place on the 28th of November in Dublin’s 3rena, in aid of Medical Aid for Palestinians following the brutal military attack on Palestine by Israel in October of the same year.

A number of Irish musicians and crew donated their time, organised by the amazing Irish Artists for Palestine, and I was very honoured to provide the artwork above. The initial design had to be updated a number of times as more and more artists signed up to play, and then again when the original venue (Vicar Street) sold out in around 90 seconds. This is normally the bane of an illustrator’s life, but I only saw the positive this time around!

I also drew a version to be printed as a poster, which was sold at the gig itself and at Bang Bang in my native Phibsboro as another means to raise funds for the cause. These were printed by Damn Fine Print, who very generously donated the labour and materials, and as usual, did a gorgeous job.

As of December 2023, a quarter of a million euro was raised by these efforts.

Ní saoirse go saoirse na Palaistíne.
